Probably not...MX is under the radar in the uk!

Yeah, you've only had 7 riders win 11 World Championships. It's not like your Belgium. :D

John Draper
Les Archer
Dave Bickers (2x 250)
Jeff Smith (2x 500)
Graham Noyce (500)
Neil Hudson (250)
David Thorpe (3x 500)

Ah, there's the problem - we prefer sports that we consistently fail to win titles at. If we're too successful at something we have less to moan about, which makes us uncomfortable.

Cycling was well under the radar in Britain, until Cav won the TDF green jersey, Wiggins won the yellow last year and now Froome has taken this years title. TV likes dynamic, easy to film events, so velodrome cycling is more often than not the only cycling we get to see, or Indoor MX.
I remember in the 70's and early 80's outdoor cyclo-cross and MX were often shown on ITV's World of Sport. They were memorable events.

Motocross, never seen it on TV other than on some short snippets on a Sunday morning and probably to do with redbull roundup type program. And then it'll only have been a see who can do the best jump sort of thing.

For some reason the TV station prefer to let people go out, turn the TV off and do something useful since all they show is people kicking or throwing a ball around.
Only real cycling we got for that sake is bikes going round and round in circles during the Olympics. I suppose the TdFrance may get better coverage next year as it is in England but still I find that utterly boring and its about the only two wheel thing covered.

They make those shopper style of bikes quite popular in the 1970's
And thats where their popularity died.

My brother had a Puch mini-sprint bike when he was a kid and it was a gorgeous bike.
