Anyone put their xmas decs up yet??

I don't make that call in our house....

We just had some massive fir trees chopped down at the bottom of the garden so we put one of the treetops up as a Christmas tree outside the house - but we wouldn't normally.

And the lady wife put some decorative lights up on a bush in the BACK garden which accidentally ended up looking like a reindeer head when lit up...

Tinsel isn't a danish phenomenon though - and the proper Christmas decs don't go up till the 20th or something.

my ex would decorate her house mid september...mad baskate that she is..

ps i like this time of year cos of all the schools i go to and i get to see all the stuff the kids make...plus the staff rooms are full of "health food"...plus i get a bit more free time than normal because the lessons get cancelled due to crap weather ...

Yep that is about what we do as well

Some people have been seen driving audis with christmas lights in the headlamps in mid summer:roll:

Xmas, what a laugh, it is more pagan than christian and FA to do with the sprog in a shed, as that was around April later in the year.

Anyway, who these days really knows what xmas is all about, does anybody actually celebrate the true meaning of it, or is it just a big buyfest ?

But, I say as UK xmas is lacking, I must say I like the Swedish version of it, the famous smorgasbord to include Jansson's frestelse and inlagd sil washed down with accompanied by a drinking song numerous glasses of linnie or sometime Skane aquavit as is my favourite seved ice cold, ( ice around the bottom of the glass). Never got to grasp with hus tomte though, thought at least the Norsk Skogkatt world have had it for breakfast.

No, not a single one. Poxy things.

Put them up indoors by all means but come the revolution and I am installed as king of the world squadrons of boimbers shall patrol the skies at night and when they see houses with the slightest glimmer of decorations up outside they will simply bomb them there and then.

Well, in this age of austerity, those that light their houses up with xmas decorations show those who work by dishonest means who has got quite literally money to burn.

I never got it how people low energy lighting or not chose to put lighted decorations up where they can't see them, unless they lived outside. It is all a case of smugness, I can do this and you can't.

Xmas sucks !
