Anyone into classic cars

Not really classics for me, but my daily's keep me fairly busy with keeping them sweet.

Funny really, when I first starting driving, owning a 20 year old car felt like an OLD car. Nowadays, these still feel and look fairly modern.

Just bought this. Plenty of work required, its a bit of a shed mechanically. But, I like it, a very odd car.

Sold this before the A2 came. Owned it 9 years, it was a good one.

Trusty Passat. 215k miles. Tidy car, owned by my dad since 2014, and me since 2022. Had a lot of work over the years but is very reliable and really does a lot (carts the family, camping trips, heavy tip runs etc) .

In my head a 205 is a 20 year old car.

It isn't. 🤣
My golf is 13, my goof is 42 and my bike is 19.
The goof is fair enough, but neither the golf nor the bike feel that old. I've just employed someone who wasn't born when my bike was new. There's something wrong about that.

This will probably be a classic in the future which is a handful on the road as I had this from new bought brand new in Melbourne 2017
BMW 140i used it in Melbourne until Covid hit then stored for over two years then shipped to UK where I used it for another year before selling it for a more family orientated car the BMW M340i. The combination of the 8speed ZF gearbox coupled with the B58 engine is superb & extremely reliable.

A friend of mine has one. it was this or an R8 when he was making his decision.
only gripe he's had is the locking wheel nut seized on all wheels.

I have this Saab 9000 2.3 Turbo since three weeks. It is fast, roomy and well built. The large rear door and fold down rear seat are excellent for bike transport.

V cool. 9000s are practical and proper drivers’ cars. Yours looks excellent 😎
Had a 9000 2.3 Turbo for years. Went like a rocket but had hideous torque steer (overtaking never needed any steering input, the accelerator did it all). Definitely it would try to punish the cack-handed by understeering into the woods or losing traction with wheelspin. It was effortless for long distances, but I never thought the chassis was that nice to drive down twisty roads. I had a 130bhp Peugeot 306 XSi which was far more fun on twisty stuff.
