Anyone into classic cars

I’d really love another mini, I had a 1982 mini special updated in nightfire red with a silver roof. Not much in the way of mods other than air filter and lcb exhaust. It was point and press like a go cart. The wife has new cooper s and while it’s quick it’s nothing like as much fun.

This is my 4th, with a gap of 25 years since the last. No firm plans yet, but I want 100hp.

I've been considering another Mini or maybe a Midget or Spitfire. Something small that will fit in the garage and be surrounded by bike junk. I used to own a 1991 Mini Cooper 1275 carb version. That was fun.

100hp doesn’t sound a lot these days but to me sounds mental in a classic mini, I’m sure it will be a lot of fun. I had a 1960s Lotus Elan which had about 115hp which was more than fast enough in car that small and light.

My Uncles both had mini pick ups with engine swaps BITD. Nothing mental, 1098 cooper engine in one and 1275 gt in the other. I like that you can drive most minis to their limits without things feeling too dangerous.

I visited my parents at the weekend. Whilst looking at an old fashioned photo album, I found a few photos of things form way back! Here are my two classics, both now gone photographed together for the only time I think.

A photo of a photo. The Triumph is a Mk 1 Vitesse with one of the last 1600 straight sixes. It had overdrive on 3 and 4 and a big Webasto sunroof.
The Seven replica is a Formula 27 with an Alfa 2L twin cam running twin 40 Delorto carbs I think? It use to spit flames out of the side pipes.
I even had a bit of hair. I still have the jacket although it has been claimed by my daughter.

The jacket lives on!😎
Could it start its own thread?
