Why would anyone want to save a Jamis Diablo with Exage Mountain :?

I'll explain... I would rescue this as I think Jamis are a very under-rated manufacturer. I had a late 80's Jamis, in the late 80's, and have another Diablo waiting for me to clean up.
I haven't got the funds to be spending £500 on a Ti retro frame or, god forbid, some ghastly painted oversized aluminium monsterousity so this is the kind of thing that appeals to me.
