Anyone have details on how the Avocet 30 cyclocomputer magnet ring works?

We used to have pots of it as kids but I suspect it's been H&S-ed
mix it with aluminium powder and add a stick of magnesium. poof the magic dragon, get's obliterated by a crazy hot burning goblet of magma.

unlike real glitter, that we call craft chlamydia in our house. because once it's in the house, you are never getting rid of it, ever, no matter how hard you try, there will always be a little bit left, for ever and ever and ever.

Proper nerdy in here, never knew I would find cycling computers interesting.

Going from what @novocaine posted, maybe if you half the number of magnets in the 3D printed ring it would help the sensor pick up the changes in the magnetic field more easily? If it´s possible to double the wheel circumference via calibration it should even read the correct speed?

Not nerdy. We all know anything with a battery - retro or not, is the work of the devil.

This is what is needed. Bowden cables, worm gears, whatsits that go "tick", analogue dials and chrome shit.

no.

I wasn't born when this shit was the norm and I'm not about to accept it now. We are not motorcycles, stop trying to use their technology on us. :P
