I found driving a leftie you have a tendency to drift over the white line (being as your used to sitting next to it) and when being a passenger in other peoples rightie you tend to pull the hand brake on as they drop you off.

Haven't found this. Driving a leftie in UK or a rightie abroad.

If you are lane discipline challenged how do you get on on multi lane highways?

Honestly, it takes all of ten minutes to get used to being on the other side, though some may find the gear changing takes longer! :)

Will the golf be for the chop rich? if so give me a shout, my mate has just sold his transporter and wants to get back into a mk3

I drive two big Lincoln Town car limo's (about to be legislated off road), both left hook, theres very little reason for lane drift once the mirrors are in the right place.

One of my many blunders in life

Always wanted a e30 m3 and when the opportunity came i opted for a e36 instead as they were same value at the time and I thought be the more sensible option.... When I sold mine two years later the e30 was worth double and e36 half ha,ha

my mk3 is the winter hack, its rough but everything works, its getting new rubber upfront and rear brakes tomorrow, hence i popped in to the garage and the bloody M3 was sat there again

if i did go for it, the golf would be going for pennies, as i paid that for it.

the BMW on the other hand wont lose any money on it, he mentioned they did drop to about £6k but are now back to there £10 - 35k area again, some are like new cars when you check them on websites, crazy prices though.

A friend of a friend had a lovely E30 M3. It was awesome but he put a lot of money into it. He eventually lost it to the big floods a few years ago.

I would say go for it, if you don't mind it being a bit of a money pit! Certainly an awesome car - you'll probably regret not buying it...

Cool bear me in mind in the golf then please, either now or in the future.

Might have to drive it to see of I will get on with it, main issue is the left hand drive!

Maintenance side, he would be looking after it for me anyways, it's a BTCC garage so in good hands!
