Anyone Familiar with Cascella Chainsets ?

As per title, would love to hear from anyone who has heard of this brand, used this brand, knows about this brand. Thanks, yours Laz.

Cascella is a bike company based in Bari in Italy owned by Antonio Cascella. They produced and distributed bicycles in the Southern part of Italy in the past, and as best as I know still do. I have had a few dealings with them and have always come away with a bad taste in the mouth. There was always something that was wrong and I always felt a degree of sleaziness in the dealings. Hopefully other people's dealings are more positive.

They never produced their own cranks but did have cranks branded with their name for use on their bikes and for resale. If teh price is very attractive, I wouldn't see anything wrong in using them, but given my experience, I would want to make sure that the deal is really good before I would use their parts.

Thank you Cito I was tracking a pair on the bay,did some research, came up with their site, but couldn't find any real info on their cranks. They looked very "different" to anything I've come across so far, and I fancied buying them if they stayed cheap enough. They went about for £45 + postage of £15, so I considered that too much. They did look rather cool though, and aero-dynamic. Not sure how strong the arms might be ? I know I've seen them somewhere in my life before, but can't place where. The pedal thread area looks so familiar, and the BB end very Mavic'ish. Really appreciate your input My best to you, yours Laz.

PS: here is a pic of them. It was the Tevano'esq type logo that caught my eye (world glode with a feather in it)

never heard of them, but look very much like ofmegas - campag pattern copy, but the crank/spider join area slopes out, whereas campag is perpendicular.
a bad explanation, i know. even the word "join" is inappropriate as its one piece forged, but I couldnt do any better. Hope you made sense of it anyway.

Hi Midlife I hear you, they do look weak, but my Tevano's when I first got them smacked of real cheap shoite that would snap at the first sight of 53-15. Thing is they are strong as hell. Looking at these, just loved the shape & figured "need to know", but at £60 for a test run & hold, I can wait Later buddy, Laz.
