Hi I ended up going through the rear window of a car yesterday on my favourite bike when a woman reversed out of her drive without noticing me,
and my bike took a beating.
are people on here able to give a replacement cost good enough for insurance companies/solicitors or do I have to go to a bike shop ?

my steed is a 1996 Kona Kilauea in the rather fetching mat blue colour (dented top and bottom tube, not sure if the head tube has moved )

pace rc36 forks (poss. bent steerer and scrapes on ally tops and adjuster, also no longer sure I trust the carbon)

hand built mavic sunset 217 dt Swiss titanium spokes splinedrive alloy nipples and marchesio carbon/alloy flange hubs very similar to nuke proof of the same vintage (very buckled)
thanks in anticipation

xtr combo brake/gear shifters (big gouges in the ally)

You'll have to get a proper quote from a proper bike shop (or possibly more than one) then the insurers will try to rip you off by making you buy from wheelies. ;)

Find a friendly bike shop and stand your ground.
