Reminds me of a sketch .
Guy locked out waits ages for the professional to turn up .
Bloke arrives and smashes window with hammer -
" hey what are you doing ? i could have done that "
" why didn't you ? "
" I thought you would be able to open it "
" how , its locked "
You can also use the flat blade screwdriver to break off the ignition and just turn it on , maybe not in this day and age but certainly with mk4 escorts and ashtrays .
Years ago when i was still a builder one of the blokes i worked with had a red Calibra and parked it at the entrance to the site . one day i saw it drive off down the road while i as stood on the scaffold , there was no point giving chase , there was no way i could have gotten down the ladder and what was i going to do ? run down a car ? unlikely
" hey Mike , someones driven off in your car "
We spent the rest of the day driving around trying to find it , our initial adrenalin had subsided into the lethargic idea it was now out of the country and stripped for parts because it was obviously stolen to order ; Nicky Cage master minded the whole thing . There was no way that the white cavalier parked along the fencing to the site abandoned earlier that day by some guy had anything to do with it , nope the mechanic from the garage in town hadn't managed to turn up to a red Calibra thinking it was a broken down white cavalier , stuck the cavaliers key in both the door and ignition and driven it to the garage to be fixed and it wasn't a couple of days after Mike had notified the police , insurance and borrowed my car that the red Calibra turned up back at the site driven by a scared mechanic watching a bunch of burly men running towards him .
Id have liked to have heard that conversation -
" when are you going to pick up my car ? its still where i left it "
" we did pick it up , we have it here now , there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it "
" you mean to tell me theres nothing wrong with my cavalier ? that is still where i left it ? "
" cavalier ?! , oh , ermmmm , ill get back to you "
