Any love for the old Carrera’s here?

Just picked this up (and actually rode this one home) and wondered if any RB’ers like the old school Carrera’s?
I picked this up mainly for the parts that are on it - my Trek 830 deserves better components than the stock parts fitted.
The ride home was really enjoyable - around 15 miles of road/bridalways - the bike felt really good. I’m going to have to google search Carrera B52 and find out a bit more about these now!

As you can see from my profile it’s mainly GT, my first mountain bike was a Raleigh Lizard which I still have but when I went into Halfords to get it I couldn’t help dream about the Carrera Quattro Comp GT. So last year I found a lovely one that I will hopefully rebuild this year in the stunning grey marble paint scheme. The Carreras as someone mentioned above were always great value and mostly had top end components fitted. My Quattro comp is full xt slr, mavic rims and Reynolds tubing. Saying that it did cost around £650 when it was new!

Least it's not Apollo, or Emmelle, or the really low end that the purveyor of tat pushed down your throat in a steady destruction of the name.

Unfortunately they were great parts donors bitd and still are now. Won't be many of the XT equipped bikes left complete which is a shame as plenty of mint examples have popped up over the years. Maybe only second to the DX or XT Al Carters for stripping and flipping?
