Just out of curiosity what's wrong with the 531 Decal? I was around in the late 70's and they pitched up on frames and we thought nothing of it. Just a decal with a couple of stars.

I'm just being "an 80s man", Shaun! I never did like the old style Reynolds sticker, as authentic looking as it may be for this particular frame.

I've been looking at 50th sets but even well used sets are mega money... and usually missing something. In truth. I think I prefer early S/Rec

I managed to pick mine up from an absolute Gentleman, not cheap but a very fair price. I consider myself very fortunate to have come across the set.

Nigel Scott perhaps?? Top chap. Top prices. But nowhere near as hefty as ebay USA! :facepalm: He just furnished me with a C Record fork crown race after I was cheated by an Italian bugger on ebay who offered a really nice looking C Record headset but only with hindsight did I notice that he never once displayed the dud side of the fork crown race in his ebay photos! He is currently doing a fine job of not understanding what my complaint is ie lost in translation! Aye, rrrrright!! :roll:

It wasn't Nigel on this occasion, but I have sourced quite a few hard to find parts and tools from him in the past.
Sorry to hear of your e bay experience. I've always been ok with Italian sourced stuff, maybe just the luck of the draw
