another project! 1990 Marin Pine Mountain

finally! some movement!

the frame came back today, i'm pretty caught up in the shop so i decided to get it hopefully in to a rolling chassis, first thing obvs was to unpack it. i'm very happy with the "zolatone" style that Matt at the Powder shack di, not sure how he did it but it is rough to the touch, which i now understand why he didn't put the stickers on! it is a little darker than it should be for this model but to be honest i like the darker version from the following year model so this is a good thing as far as i'm concerned! i fitted the stickers, they may peel over time i think as the rougher finish is harder to stick to, that said like most of my project bikes it's never gonna see major mileage again! i do these more for fun these days!

anyway! some pics! :)

I've just read-up from the beginning, this is all ringing very true to me right now. I bought a 91 PM a couple months ago, my powder coater is having a mare re-doing the forks & stem etc for me.

Yours looks great & is a pretty good Zolatone substitute, I must say. Prepare yourself for the onslaught of requests of who, how & where from, long into the future. I look forward to the progress.
