Now my " thieving scrote " radar light just went from green to amber so I've mailed him this innocuous question...

" Hi, lush bike mate! Lots of daft questions: Have you had it from new or a long time? If yes, have you or your local bike shop maintained the bike? Sorry for the rude question but I've bought some gorgeous bikes off here that were left to rot for years and were worth naff all when they were delivered to me. "

If HE HAS maintained it I can ask other, seeminly innocent questions that an honest person can sail through.

If he says THE LOCAL BIKE SHOP has maintained it he's quite possibly ( keeping an eye on the lawyers there ) a thieving b@[email protected] LBS would've trimmed that rear brake cable.

Now before anyone jumps down my throat can I just say I don't give a toss anymore? I'm sick and tired of the politically correct b0ll0x of ASSUMING innocence and being non-judgmental. I've been financially cloned before ( 3 gold cards one passport, 3 mobile phones, 3 fictional kids for income support and 4 insurance policies in one week ) and the guy was Nigerian and I got called a racist on Singletrack World for mentioning this. I also give what help I can to the Bristol anti-burglary squad ( they phukking hate bike thieves! ) and have frustratingly found the scrote has waaaay more rights than the victim so please excuse my lack of empathy.

.....and relax.

His reply was open, short and frank with none of the prevaracation of a poor liar. I reckon he's an honest bloke but a total Ebay plum.

Though with 9 days still to go, he's had 5 bids, mostly from a bidder, also, wiyth no feedback...

new ebayers don't really understand how bidding works and wondering why the price isn't going up as they keep putting a higher bid in, they don't get that it needs another person to bid against them, this particular guy only has a 14% activity with this seller. I hate shill bidders so always look out for that

I asked him for the history of the bike and his reply was,

Yes I bought the frame with the original fox vanilla shocks intact
added which cost me £500 used added manitou Spyder front
shocks £450 and built the rest of the bike up from 2nd hand
parts although the front and rear rims and tyres are new also
the twist grip system.

It has been in storage for 8 years therefore low usage.
