Another ebay annoyance...

I received an item I bought from eBay today (no one on here btw). It turned up quickly, was very well packed and didn't appear to have even been used, and it works perfectly, brilliant I thought until I realized it...

ABSO FECKING LUTELY STINKS OF FAGS!!!!

Winds me up a treat, can you tell?

I thought it was usually good eBay etiquette for items such as clothing, cushions, curtains, etc. that might easily trap allergens, smoke, etc. (in this instance I guess electronic kit is full of nooks and corners that do similar) to state that the item comes from a pet and/or smoke-free home. Can easily see why you're cheesed off.

I have had amps and guitars from the US that smelled like they were put in a strip club extractor for fifty years.

It is an amp as it goes! Not one of yours is it?

Any ideas on getting rid of the smell? My house is beginning to smell like a tramp lives under the stairs!

Pop it in a reasonably well-sealed box with (and this is going to sound a bit wierd) some Odor-Eaters? The activated charcoal stuff should serve equally well to absorb the niff just as it would the smell of cheesy feet[1]. Sprays like Febreze or Neutradol might well be bad news for electrical equipment.
