Another Day - Another Dispute

After what I thought might be my last outing onto ebay a couple of months back where I had a month long fight to get basic decent service (or even a product that wasn't faulty) I find myself in my next transaction and yet another dispute launched.

No moans of 'it isn't what it used to be' here, more a sad realisation that there's good and bad of course in everything, but the bad in ebay is just so much grief that I think I can't be arsed anymore.

I have predicted the future and it's Blue Peter Bring and Buy sales.

Out.

I buy quite a lot off eBay and, touch wood, have not had any problems yet. But I only deal with people with 100% feedback scores. No guarantee I know, but a reasonable guide.

You can get poor service/quality anywhere, not just ebay, but you seem to be on an unlucky streak.

I used to deal a huge amount on eBay, and had relatively few issues.

Just lately out of twenty odd purchases I have had to open three disputes, the latest one is not resolved yet.

Things certainly don't seem to be the way they used to be.

No, for the mirth makers amongst you, I did not purchase twenty odd things.

Agree. e-bay is a great idea but the rotten eggs on it just make it stink. 'LooT' ads are fun. The old way of buying & selling. Remember?

eBay has it's place, but obviously has occasional draw backs.

in general, stick to UK suppliers, with great feedback, who can be bothered to describe items in detail. if in doubt, drop them a tester message to see how much care is offered in their response.

not as many bargains to be had these days, but still plenty of hard to source items available for immediate despatch at the click of a button.

Its hard to fault their search engine too, fre-ads are fun - but the standard web design leaves me cross eyed after a few minutes.

Agreed. The seller who can't be bothered to supply anything better than a single blurry photo and a 7 word description created on their smartphone is unlikely to have the personality profile of someone who has taken good care of their stuff or who will put in the effort to package items well before posting them.

Big problem I have these days both there and to be honest sometimes on forums like these is the line 'Sold as seen' or 'Look at the pics' or 'You could see what you were buying'

No I fecking couldn't because pictures hide a thousand lies.

Very few make an honest description listing everything, they know that would hurt the price and rely on peoples optimism.

On the plus side if you are buying 99.9% of the time you can shaft the buyer back via Paypal and I keep the items too if they really got my goat

I've been eBay member for 12 years, it has changed and like the other poster says now smartphones can list adverts it is getting worse!
