Found this at a car boot for £3 sparking off instant nostalgia

20 years ago, I'm 16 and I've just spent £70 of my hard earned cash (actually I was at Tesco and raking it in...)

8 - 10 hours a day listening to Jean Michel Jarre tapes at college

mated to a set of £40 Technics EH-Z70 double drive headphones

1990....

blimey.

I had a similar, possibly later version of that. Same rechargeable battery and optional clip-on AA. Mine was more compact and had a remote control on the head-phone lead. It even came with a travel case for all the bits. I remember saving over £100 for it and I used it until it literally fell to pieces.

I also have a dead RQ-S11.

My original RQ-P303 went wrong and was replaced when myself and 3 work colleagues 'helped' me get a replacement.

One just stood by the door in his shades, one argued the case and one just stood by something very expensive.

I got a replacement

Neat, great condition too!!

A few of my faves.

In 1997 I was sporting one of these on ths school bus, listening to the likes of the Verve, the Manics, Radiohead and Oasis.

I still have it :)

I still have a MD stereo and walkman and a huge collection of discs.

Is there an easy way of importing them to iTunes? I remember trying years ago but only managed to import the whole album as a single track.

I've a TCS310 - used to illicitly tape gigs on it (Billy Bragg/Au Pairs/Killing Joke/The Fall/Aztec Camera/Orange Juice etc.) in the early eighties. Sadly the belts are persihed and it barely plays - anyone know if they can be revived??

Also have a working Grundig cassette player that we use at polo tourneys - managed to get some NOS TDK Ds off the bay recently and taped some Street Sounds electro compilations, natch! :-)

I can fix these (well of course I can cant I. I wouldnt be me if I couldnt fix another obsolete bit of technology....)

Never managed to aspire to much more than a Saisho or Matsui cassette walkman BITD. Always remember pawing thru the Argos catalogue to check out all the fancy Sony stuff

Managed to get an MD walkman in like 1999 and it's still going strong.

Oh yeah, which reminds me of my Kenwood Midi Hifi which I bought new in 1991 and it's been used everyday and still going strong!!!!!!!!!!! 8) 8)
