**AMP B3 BIG SPEC - PRICE DROP**

Sorry to burst your bubble but the bike seems way over priced mate.

I've just recently picked up a 2008 Pace RC405 for the same money with a better spec and far, far better a bike than the AMP. Possibly £600 and you'll shift it. If you're looking for 1K for it, I think you'll be hanging on-to it for some time...just saying...

Can you keep commentary on price to a min please. Retro pricing is very subjective.

Thanks for the tip but no thanks...

To put things into perspective, you can pick up a brand spanking new full sue Boardman for the same cash. It's nothing to do with subjectiveness, it's all to do with *reality*.

It wasn't a tip, it was a quiet nod to the forum rules which you might want to take a look at.

I think if you're looking for the best performance per £ you might be in the wrong forum, maybe pop over to Singletrack or Bikeradar where there's plenty of discussions on value, performance etc.

hmmm, comparing a boardman to an Amp is an awful point to try and make. Firstly, Amp is ground breaking heritage, the design of which evolved to Specialized as we know it today - boardman is a study in business bulk-buy and undercutting the market to assure a place in the Halfords territory of weekend warrior patrons. It might be worth considering integrity and prestige before opening face hole and commenting where comments are neither needed or wanted... just sayin', like!

Price is indeed a matter of perspective and as is the case in Mr Boardman (Obree kicked his ass in my opinion anyway) the market will out.

Apologies to the O.P for being harsh, I'm just calling it as it is.

All I'm pointing out is the fact that there are better bikes around for less cash and it's no surprise that this hasn't sold - that's all I'm saying.

Take a look at the second hand bikes that are for sale, bikes like the Meta 5's (which I've seen go for £600) Sure, this bike *might* have been way ahead of the curve way-back-when, but things have moved on and there's a plethora of very good bikes available that are better for the same, similar or in many cases less cash.

Being pragmatic for one moment, it's not like this bike does anything special, it's just a bike. You turn the crank and it moves, that's it, whereas, if you have something like a Fairchild 760 compressor or an old Pultec Eq that does things to a wave form that other compressors and Eq's can not do or match, that makes such things unique, hence the hefty price tag that they carry.

Again, all I'm saying is that if the O.P wants to shift the bike, drop the price to something that would make it more saleable. I've got absolutely zero interest in the final outcome myself, just being honest if I did have £1000 large burning a hole in my pocket :D
