American Content...

Only ever seen one American in the flesh so deffo rare. Monsterfatuk knows something behind the history of the brand.

Nice tie-dye ano job! Great pick-up sidekick! A rep that worked with me back in the GT days grew up in St. Cloud and did complete bike assemblies for Fred at American while going to college. He rode an American for a while, until he had no choice but get a Zaskar. I think Chris is repping for Trek these days out in the mountain west.

more AMERICANS...

sourced for retro bikers in Philipines... guess a following starting up there..

... hmm... just curious... any reason why i shdnt clamp the top tube ???

You should never clamp any frame tube - always use the seatpost. Depending on the tubes wall thickness (very, very thin on some high-end lightweight frames) it is very easy for the uneven pressure applied by a clamp to crimp the tube. If you do a lot of wrenching keep a cheap seatpost in all the common sizes handy.

I always liked the Anno black the best. If I remember right back in the day it was US $50 more to get polished and $100 more for annodized. I just couldn't justify that extra $100.

For whatever reason my pics dissapeared from above. I will force them (or different ones) on you again.

My 1990 American CompLite brushed:
