On a 1983 or 1984 Gitane MTB - presumably the first one built by this french firm, I have got a very nice set of ambrosio rims ( but on Maillard hubs with an helicomatic in the rear, this hub being unloved because of apparently a "volatile" reliability !)
I suspect them to be from the "Durex" range but which model ?
They seem to have been more of a BMX mount than MTB's.
I wonder if these rims were ever used on the US early MTB's ? as UKAI seemed more the contemporary choice ?
