Aluminium Corrosion - any tips

Although the frame isn't retro I'm sure the problem will be familiar to retro bike owners.

I've just bought this frame in 7005-T6 alloy. It has a few spots of corrosion like in this pic which I want to get rid of before painting the frame. I'm pretty certain there'll be no structural problems once I clean it off - using fine waterproof sander and wire wool - but is there any way of treating the cleaned up areas, as with Kurust for steel, before painting to stop it returning.

I would've thought that as long as you leave doing your prep work until just before it is painted then this should prevent it oxidising?

Polish it out to the point you see no pits, and then use something like CLR to remove all oxidation. If the aluminum is covered by paint I would think it cant really oxidize any more as it needs air exposure..
