Alpinestars cro mega DX

I'm probably going to commit a cardinal sin by doing this.

I picked up a 1990 alpinestars the other day, it has TANGE tubing and also an upgraded gear system to LX.

Most of the gearing will be removed in favour of black LX.

At some point I will install a reducer headset for more fork options and upgrade the gearing to 8 speed.

But before all that I have to prep the frame for a respray, I was thinking matt green with black decals.

I also want to add road bars or atleast Brahma bars for a touring look.

What do you guys think

hmm, one of my old school riding friends had one of these wicked bikes, pretty sure there was some Shimano Deore DX kit on it, thus the name ! Not seen one in a long while, up to you , but I’d try and save the original paintwork if possible it’s a fairly unique look !

I did think about that and did email gill, the paint and decals on this frame are pretty shot.
Maybe I will restore it after having some fun with it.
