Alpinestars AL-S930 (1995 or 1996)

Optikal

Retro Newbie
My mom happened to work for the Alpinestars corporate offices in Torrance California in the early 90’s and my parents still have 1 unboxed bike and 1 unboxed frame in their garage or attic somewhere. The full bike i believe is a 1994 AL-D900 which was their top of the line aluminum frame model with the Shimano XTR components throughout. The unboxed frame is the full suspension AL-S930 (that’s the same MTB I’ve had since then and the pictures shared with this post).

However I can’t find any information on the AL-S930 full suspension frame and I believe it must be a 1995 or possibly 1996 model (the last year Alpinestars released new MTBs according to online accounts and that Wikipedia thing).

Does anyone happen to have a 1995 or 96 Alpinestars catalog or any details they can share on this pioneering full suspension MTB frame or bike?

All original parts still in use except for some minor upgrades:
1) New Mag Pedals in yellow to match the OG Judy Rock Shox.
2) Handlebar riser (used to use a Yepp front mounted toddler seat for my kids)
3) Tires downsized to 26 x 1.9 from 26 x 2.25 (trying to make this my gravel bike now lol)
4) About 6 years ago (after about 20 years in use), I had to have the Fox rear suspension completely rebuilt. Same OEM part that originally came with the frame

These Alpinestars catalogs are awesome. wow 😲

Mombat has (had) one of those
http://mombatbicycles.com/MOMBAT/Bikes/1995_Alpinestars.htmland in a german bike forum there is a nice thread about a similar AL-940
https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/alp...quake-jake-watson-oscar-saiz-downhill.956688/and on MTBR another one
https://www.mtbr.com/threads/rebuil...996-alpinestars-rsa-940-downhill-bike.935310/both are even including pics and videos from BITD when this bike was used for Downhill racing.

Other than that, i think it's rare, not even sure if this went officially on sale in all regions

because later model lists aren't including this.
At least not the ones i do have for 95 and 96 from the Buyers guide of the German Bike Magazine

The overall thread linked might be also a good read for you or the perfect place to share a bit your private background about Alpinestars and your NOS bikes.
