Alpinestars al-mega XT

Hi im currently building a alpinestars al mega xt and im wondering what year , its got the reinforced gusset on the head tube , the frame in brand new as it stood in a Italian bike shop for 30+ years , also im changing the 1 1/4 headset I've just fitted to the mavic type will this fit ? I think its the 317 type

Also im changing it to a quill type stem a control tech version but I think il need a reducer

I was going to do it period correct but I was struggling to get a front derailleur
So I've gone 11sp XT and single chainring all new equipment

Be watching I like these frames been looking for a yellow one yours look mint I can't remember do these take a certain front derailleur

Yeah the yellow one is nice the DX model
Thanks im really happy with mine its literally never been built, hopefully I will do it justice
I know this is reto bike so I wanted to keep it period correct like some of my others , as I said the front mech was a problem to find until the gentleman has just posted a offer, I think it has a different hanger bit that bolts through the hanger

Hi, it’s not NOS but in very good condition, I had it on my almega dx but I’m going back to full dx so no longer required … I will get you some pictures tomorrow

In my view if it's NOS then try to build to period spec. Give the old girl some dignity. Retro bikes and single ring chainsets are an abomination!
