Hanging on to my 20's by the skin of my teeth.

Although actually I have decided to get younger from this point in, until I hit 25, then start working back up towards the big three-oh and seeing how I feel about the idea then.

43, so I was in my early twenties when I got into mountain bikes, and was working, so I could afford one, which kind of beats me about those who were in their teens growing up with the things, as how could they afford them, rich parents ?

No rich parents, I had to put up with Raleigh Mustangs and Claud Butler Magma's until I could afford to pay for a bike myself!

Similarly my riding pals, they were all working and it was Diamond Backs Treks and Marins which if I remember correctly were all about £250 upwards. Teens, I had the clunkers, the bikes made out of bikes, road bike style whatever I could scrounge and they still went to places they were perhaps not designed to, bombing through the woods for example, so singletrack, it was not mtbs, that got me into off road riding.
