Age of Retro bike members?

I was just about to ask the same thing when I found this, struth! (a nice old fashioned expression for you) I had no idea.
I'm in the 50+ bracket, a real old codger. I should warn all you young whippersnappers that from now on, if any of you contradict or criticise one of my postings, you will be sent to your rooms with no tea and may well have to forfeit your pocket money, or a nice shiny bike part

Perhaps I need to change my username to geriatricjohn, or has someone already got that?

So according to the results so far, the age group 31 to 35, what were they, were they brought up on these bikes, in which case were they the products of wealthy parents or did they get on the band wagon due to the fashion for retro bikes, what is the term, hipster ?

My reasoning is, I was 24 when I got my first MTB in 1992 and I am 44 now, at the time despite a pretty good job I struggled to afford what was a mid range bike back then at the princely sum of £550 and that was a cash sale based on a few factors that enabled a good discount.

Given what bikes were at the time and I do remember circa £300 did not buy much as that was my initial budget until I realised the bike mags were not giving good reports in that price group. So if the age group mentioned above were biking at the time, what was it a step up from the bso or wealth ?

I would imagine my incontinence pants will take care of that, only emptied them out this morning and they're the 5 litre XTR versions.

30, but look a lot younger. Should be a good thing, but not when getting asked for ID when buying spray paint... Got asked if my parents were home yesterday by a door-to-door salesman. Bad start!

I am 44 single with no kids and I feel like a clueless teenager.

But there is something to be said about those that have kids, they emotionally or mentally take another step in maturity, so it is those males with kids tend to be and act more mature than even those older who have not had kids. So take heart everything is natural.

I've always had the opposite. Could get served for alcohol from the age of 14 which had its benefits

Although as time goes on the opposite would be nice.
