Advice for spoke, tyre and grip???

I need few more advice before finishing my marin...and my first true built...
First I have to assemble the wheels, xt 732/730 hubs with araya rm400 rims...it will be the first time i will make made some retro wheels, is there some spoke you will recommanded? new or retro if it's not to hard to find and very different...
The others stuff i'm not sure of, is for the grip and the tyres...It seems hard to find some retro...And was asking me if it was "necessary"... Is there some new grip or tyres nice with retro stuff...wich one for you? (or wich retro, if yo think it's impossible?....)...

hi. spoke wise just go for dt swiss comp spokes cos they haven't changed at all really in at least the past 15 years!!
the dt swiss website has a spoke calculator on it as well.
tyre's and grips... go for onza as they are re-making their classic ules grips and selling on ebay for only £4 and i believe paligap( kona importers) are selling ritchey z max tyre at the mo bout £35 quid a tyre though....
