Mountain Baiku:

Cross bike forkless. Mountain Bike conscripted. First turn since June. Weather forecast good. Fun projection awesome. SID's fitted, lights charged. Ready. Same old loop. Impressions bad. Small. Hefty. Sluggish. Still small. 1.8in tyres feel too big. Trudge through woods. Climb on bounce. Tyres sound like Lancaster bombers on the dry tarmac. Speed and control downhill - a temporary respite to an otherwise dull exercise in hard work and slow progress. Best ride of my life probably next week when forks re-appear on CX.

Cross Baiku:

What a difference a week makes. What a difference a fork makes. What a difference a cx bike makes. Forecast appalling. Torrential rain. Gale force winds. Ignore S.G.T.S*, trust in keeping going and staying warm. Start. Spin, climb, drop, flow. Stop. Pee,breathe, see, hear, feel. Take in Nature's tantrum. In awe of her power. Sharing her hills with no man is a treat. Thank her and head home. Rewarded with a sunburst a mile to go. Best ride of my life.

Reminds me. Really must ride a bike rather than look at them.
