General and Off Topic has it's place. Think it's good to have such a forum to hopefully keep the 'main' forums a little more on topic.

That said the threads elsewhere can go off topic. Sometimes this can be a good thing, sometimes not.

Maybe I should find out the top 10 posters in general and off topic. And ban them <- smiley indicates I am joking before I get a flood of idignant PMs.

I think you should JV.

You could set up a competition to see who nominates the top ten correctly.


If any members from the list also prove to be any of those who continually spam the 'proper' sections (ie. they have no excuse, they are just spammers) then these members could be put in a 'chop pot'.


Then, the winner of the competition gets to boot off an offender of their choice from said 'pot'...

Whatever you do don't do a MacRetro top ten. FWIW I think the off topic section is good for the site if the purpose is to be an online community, that along with the area groups.

The subtly veiled spamming comments though are cropping up more and more, Iv'e noticed another forum has a friends and foes option where each user can effectively block others posts.
