UPS has reported one of my ebay sale auctions as lost/damaged and is processing a refund. RIP this poor NOS, in the box Suntour Superbe Pro rear derailleur.

Just be thankful ye don't have ParcelForce in US.............best we ever get is MIA, no shots fired over a grave, nobody tae hand ye a folded flag......... :P

I'm sure there must be fathers on here who, like me, remember the story of Old Bear's Trousers. It was about Old Bear losing his trousers. But in truth, nothing is ever lost, it's just not where it's supposed to be. As Old Bear said, "They must be somewhere."

And as FluffyChicken says, this nice mech is not dead, there's no need for a military salute, it'll soon be enjoying itself trundling along on a bike somewhere. But just not the right bike, that's all.

Tough luck UtahDog, but at least you've made somebody happy, even though he doesn't deserve to be.

Update from UPS..."parcel crushed, contents destroyed/missing"

That don't sound good for the theory of the 'trundling along on the wrong bike'!

I'm not so sure, I reckon that mech would take quite a bit of crushing. What kind of crushing device would UPS need to have within their package handling system that a rear mech could be too crushed to send it on to you? Whereas if they have a category called 'parcel crushed and contents destroyed or missing', then a parcel that had been ripped open and the contents removed by an unknowm hand might well fit into that category, methinks.

Don't you go writing off Old Bear's words of wisdom too lighhtly now, UtahDog, Old Bear didn't get where he is today without knowing a thing or two.

I hope you're right! But the grouch in me thinks somebody shipped an engine block or a sarcophagus of something and, well you get the idea....
