I remember lusting after this bike at covent garden cycles. Bought a GT, something in between a tequesta and karakoram; nice but the stumpjumber was lighter and better.

Wow, what a beautiful example. Really does look like it was just assembled out of the box.
I remember selling these myself BITD. Beautiful bikes. Only thing nicer was the S-Works steel with full Suntour MD.
Had a good laugh about "couldn't afford on a mechanics wage".... gods I remember that all too well. Even with our pro deals as staff and "sponsorship" as riders through the shop/mfg more than once I would grumble about building up a clients bike that was worth so so much more than what I had hobbled together.
