a 'light shower'

We got evacuated at 4:20pm. Fire services and police wouldn't let us near my business after that. Some F***ers were nicking our sandbags too....after we spent all day making the place as safe and water resistant as poss :x

I got away with this one by the skin of my teeth....water rapidly rose and came up to the edge of our building, literally touching it, but receded before it went any further. Spent all Saturday night convinced the business was under water.

Total sympathy for all those with destroyed homes and property. Especially sorry to hear about your bad luck Si :( Give me a shout if i can do anything. I'm not far away after all.

Ps. Hope the Yeti is living up to expectation Sithlord

I thought that when I saw that pic too.

I live in Sheffield which was awesome (as in terrible) last year in the floods. Made me really glad I live at the top of a big hill!

I work down by the river in Sheffield, and our office got wrecked by the floods.

Not to mention being stranded in town until the middle of the next day.

Also glad I live on a hill.

Bad news Dr S, glad everyone is OK though.

Oh F***, did´t notice this at first....

Hopefully everything is getting better there!

Bejesus,

That's the last time I moan about the weather our end! Good luck with the clean up, hope everyone keeps the faith (as Bon Jovi might say).

Thoughts with you.

Yeah thanks for the sandbags Drew, thought you wouldn't miss a few!

Just looking at your signature and realized that 33% of your collection of bikes were floating about in my garage on Sat afternoon. We must find somewhere on higher ground to hide our toys!

thanks for all your support guys, garage back to normal-ish and opening the doors again in the morning. House is going to be longer term, but due to various problems with purchases falling through, vendors dropping dead etc, we've kinda got used to living out of suitcases now. We did hope that after 11 months of hassle and rentals we would be settling it to our new gaff and we could put it all behind us. Looks like Christmas will have come and gone before we get it sorted now. Just my luck. It occured to me t'other day that I must have done something really bad in a previous life to get all this bad luck- maybe I was Hitler?? :(

Chin up
Si

Ps. Best of luck with your special delivery tomorrow Sithlord matey. If you need owt just shout.
