a 'light shower'

:( That's a bummer! hope everything will be ok for you Si and others that suffered during the floods, it's about time we had enough rain for this year!

Sorry to hear that Dr S. Hope everything goes as easy as possible ...(If thats possible) in your repairs!

feck! hope you get stuff sorted quickly,im dreading the day the trent goes over

It sounds like you've had it bad Dr S. I really hope that you can salvage your stuff and I truly feel for you about the damage to the house, that's just the worst timing.

I know what you're going through. I'm from Shrewsbury and we suffer from serious flooding regularly. The Severn was looking swollen earlier, I just hope it doesn't rise much more over night.

This is seriously shit,my thoughts go to all who have been affected by the rains especially those who have lost their homes and contents, just another reason to pack up and leave GB i think.

cant see Dr S getting his bars delivered with roads flooded.

thanks guys
At workshop now. It's a mess, full of mud but nothing that can't be put right over the next few days. Got power back on. Time to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in.
I have some awesome pics of the floods a few hours before the peak- it wasn't safe to hang about.

Si

Gutted for you.

The blue barrier thing in picture 3, shouldn't this be used to keep water away from the houses rather than in them?

I thought that when I saw that pic too.

I live in Sheffield which was awesome (as in terrible) last year in the floods. Made me really glad I live at the top of a big hill!

Some additional photos
