so i was watching some mavic 217s on fleabay a while ago.

no bids cause they were badly listed, starting bid of 39.99 and postage of £16.

not too special but they had panaracer smoke magic? tyres on them (the white ones) and while im not too into them i thought someone on here might be and i could have some cheap decent wheels.

so i win at 40.99 so all told 56.99, sent payment straight away and im happy.

just now ive had an email from ebay saying ive been refunded my money.

seller sent a note saying: got the wheels out today to give them a clean and left them out the front of my house to dry  and someone has stolen one! blah blah whatever.

from the listing it seems the seller was hoping for more money from these but because they had listed them as marvics i thought i was on to a winner.

so im assuming theres nothing i can do about this cause egay is a bit merde?

your advice please. :)

Find his address, break into his house and verify that there is indeed only one wheel there.

Just in case you're wondering : I was kidding.

im actually thinking of asking for the single wheel! might as well just let it go eh? not much i can do i suppose. :?

Ask him for the police crime reference number, which you can then check via their local Farces website. If they can't reasonable substantiate the crine then it's negative feedback time.

well i asked about the front wheel but no reply...

its an arsey thig to do really int it? if you want a certain amount out of something then put a bin price or a reserve on it, i think the seller thought they would go through the roof tbh.

ill see what reply i get then ask for the refrence number. :D

cheers for the advice peeps.

I had one a couple of years back, I won the auction, paid, and then got refunded because the seller didn't want to let the item go so cheap, I was furious, isn't that breaking a contract ? The ebay communities told me even if I did win the auction the seller does not have to sell, well, what's the point then.

But as to the OP, it does sound to me like the vendor wanted more, but that is the chance people take entering into auctions, especially auction that start at 99p because they too tight to pay more to start higher.

i think you should be glad you got your money back.
ebay is just a con now, i was selling a scooter, the high bidder was not willing to buy cos he wasnt happy with it, even though it was described correctly.
even when you report traders, nothing seems to get done.
