Yeah it’s getting stripped and painted black as are the forks

It’s off a 92 Karakoram so it’s yellow and has black stripes over it
Headset fitted today, and discovered that the forks I have fit the head tube length perfectly, with room for a cable hanger to be fitted.So with that the stem and fork can be sent off for a strip and to be re painted black.
Waiting on a m900 front mech and then the chain can be fitted.
Still need too find a GT black bar and a GT post in black or a XTR one.

I got a black fork and flip flop now, so no need too strip these parts, I have another set of forks for a 91 team avalanche too a 20” these are off a 16”
Bit of an update;
I found a black flip flop stem a 91, first year of them.
And I also got a black fork it’s not a 2x4 it’s a 3D I think but it saved stripping a perfect good set of 2x4’s off a gt team avalanche.
The black bar is not staying nor is the seatpost!
In the first 3 photos the stem had a rise, so I tried it the other way in the last 2 photos.
I found a black flip flop stem a 91, first year of them.
