97 Ku build & now a 98 Ku

I got an email yesterday to say my 98 respray has been completed. Paid today so should be shipped back to me in a day or two………

Can’t wait to see how it turned out. I’ve got all the parts ready except a chain, bolts and pads/holders for the V brakes and inner/outer cables.

Going to be a fun build…

of course. It’s been done by Blue Whippet. Cost me £285 inc colour match, decals added, lacquer and return post!

Great find! As I find myself oft repeating- I would keep it original and just touch in the chips. So much is hidden by the build and at this price point, so little is gained by a respray and fresh decals. I think that we really need to be preserving originality at this point or we will see a future RB scene where we are only looking at interpretations of the original schemes.

I agree with your point about preserving originality but the paint on this one is just too tatty. In my experience when I’ve tried touching up another frame it just makes it look worse.

What do we think to these Z2 Superfly on the 97 compared to the SID.

Orange and yellow doesn’t actually look as bad as I thought….. and maybe I can cope with a 99 fork on a 97 frame too

I've never really been a fan of the butterscotch tyres, but this has made me change my mind, they really suit it.

I think the forks look good!

A clash on a 90’s bike is not out of the ordinary

Like the gold bombers a lot better they tie in the tyres and the yellow on the wheels good choice
