'96 Marin Palisades Trail - seat post size?

Hi there

I've recently got hold of the above frame. I emailed MTB Sales (Marin UK) about the seatpost size. They advised the size was 31.4 mm. This is not right as a 30.9mm seat post won't fit in!

I've emailed them back, but no response to date..... :shock:

Anyone know the size? I would go the LBS, but it ain't that local and I want to order one over the interweb.
