As a non-expert without a single qualification apart from a Home Economics CSE(F) (see seperate 'Crap Advice' thread  ) if your brakes were set up correctly I wouldn't have thought you'd have enough cable pull to do that amount of damage??

But what do I know...

 .....under current health and safety regs i shall ignore the last comment....

Doesn't you kitchen fill up with steam? Sorry, just a random thought.

I have just started to rebuild a Hahanna for my daughter, and have just taken the canti's off with a view to fitting V brakes (she lives in Bristol, where good brakes are essential). Is there any reason why you refitted the canti's? Or was it just for retro reasons?

I was going to say that too...... :-)

The V brakes were only a temp thing, but I liked the idea of fitting my 986's as they are retro, who knows I may go the v brake route again some day.
