There is a 1" threaded XT headset on ebay out of Romania. $133, looks NOS.

So the chrome headset i have won’t look right on this build and payment $150 for a black Deore XT is not happening either I decoded to try the Duplicolor paint option. Unbelievable how this turned out. Will try it until another option presents itself

That andodising aerosol looks mint... great job. I've looked at similar on ebay but always imagined it would be crap.

Ya anodizing spray turned out fab. Two very light coats from distance then a heavier one. It does run easy so care to move quickly. Engravings will be filled using a laquer stick also called fill stick. Haven’t done it yet so can’t report on it yet.

These are available in black and I’m pretty sure they do a 1” version.. they have cartridge bearings and are a bit lighter than XT..
