'93-4 (?) Marin Team Issue non-cat spec (sorry, purists) đź‘€

That is by far the best livery Marin has delivered. That steel frame going to ride so nice.

I have a similar build with new-ish 1x drivetrain. I’ve never wanted to ride a bike as much as this one.

Managed to spend a bit of time on this one yesterday.

A bit controversial (I think?) but decided for now to keep it as a parts-bin special - and also to see if I could fashion a 1x setup - using only the parts I had to hand. Cleaned up an old XT mech, stripped a nice White industries crankset down to the middle ring and ...

My main aim was just to get it running and be able to take it for a burn around the Hackney marshes... and it was a lot of fun (even minus a back brake - I was impatient / lazy haha).

Now I need to figure out the best way to keep the chain on. It wasn't flying off but I could sense it would if I went over anything more technical than gravel towpaths. The chainring is only 32T so does quickly run out of gas at the high end. Low end is plenty low for London parks - and even I reckon my local trails in Epping forest. So I'd be happy to go slightly bigger to get more speed at the expense of extreme-climbing capabilities. Does anyone have suggestions re: narrow-wide chainrings and/or chain keepers / tensioners? I always wanted some Paul Components kit so could this be the moment to splash the cash? On that note, and unlikely I know but if anyone has one up for grabs - ideally in silver - please let me know :)
