92 CroMega respray - red or white?

The frame is stripped and ready to go off to the powdercoaters but I've suddenly hit a little dilemma.

When I bought the frame, it was an LX and obviously white. It was also built up with bits that my m8 sourced whilst he worked in the LBS (a bit of a mishmash to be fair :shock: ).

A subsequent respray was carried out a few years ago and it was again resprayed white but with no decals this time. The components, although upgraded in some places, was still a mish mash. :shock: :shock:

Since discovering you lovely people, my PayPal account has never seen so much activity and I have sourced almost a complete period DX groupset for the beast. This has also had me thinking about completeness

To get to the point, should I still go ahead with its white respray as it is now OR change it to red to match the groupset OR any other colour?

I'm sooooo confused!

good to hear that another alpinestar is getting some love.

in my opinion i think you should do it ferrari red as you have the groupset that will make it pretty spot on for the 1992 cro mega, i am sure if you speak to gil he would be able to sort out some generic alpinestar decal (i dont think he has 1992 cromega)

look forward to seeing the results

i am also working on my dream alpinestar but am taking my time to get it just the way i want it.

never thought the red ones looked right
the 91 schemes were the best on the eos frames ,but why not do it like an earlier non eos frame all flouro and that ?

Of course the great thing about the DX groupset is that it will look great on any colour of bike.
Tough choice between white and red though; why not meet it halfway and go for pink...?

Um, certainly not sure about a pink bike but it is the 21st century after all

My Dale is polished aluminium (well, not so polished anymore ) so I probably won't go with the silver so it looks different. Making it look like a Ti Mega would be kinda like watching boy racers driving around with bodykits fitted to Escort LX's. Erm, now there's an idea........

Still undecided and it's going in on Saturday. Red pill, blu pill......

I'd actually go with Kaiser on this one, a nice mid-grey and the fluro decals would just jump off of that
