Damn it. This morning the tires arrived and they are too fat! 2.1 Michelin race'r seems even bigger than Conti Race King 2.2. The lugs on the side are brushing the chainstays. Will have to order new ones in 2.0. :evil:

Looks like a Gazelle on steroids at the moment but somehow, thats cool! Also gave me the idea to switch the grips to Ritchey TGV or VI.

Edit: Fit it with Contis 2.2 from another bike. If you want a really fat tire -> Michelin. Looked much better before, but that's how it is now. :roll:

Rode a few (3-speed) miles the other day. Someone must have tailored that for me. Very comfy and rolling like a tractor. In general the frame seems to be in better condition than at a first glance. Couldn't find any rust in the in the tubes.

Bank holiday and a little progress: Replaced the headset by the Tange Levin today. Every time a small adventure for me with improvised tools like a waterpipe and a threaded rod. Looks really better now in my view ->

Changed my mind and chose a XT wheelset with black araya rm-17 rims, which i actually wanted to dump because i thought they were worn out. Googled out they are designed concave and not worn . Trued them over and over today, now new grips and the Gazelle is ready to gallop again (with a little prothesis) .

Guess i'll post a picture of its current state tommorow. New tires, grips and bottle cage are mounted. Ready to roll. New brake shoes for the u-brake are maybe an improvement. Koolstop eagle 2 are the only ones i've found so far. Thread seems a bit long. If someone has a better idea – advice appreciated,. thx

Btw, the top tube is ascending about 1 cm to the seat tube on mine. Wonder if that's the same on your gazelles. Frame size is 54 cm c-t, top tube 58,5 cm c-c.
