76 Holdsworth Mistral

A few years back I acquired a 66/7 mistral, lovely frame but just too small. I sold it on this forum and it was beautifully restored. From time to time I've looked for a replacement and finally bagged one this week. It's original paint and decals in great condition. It'll be built up with period campag, cinelli, TA and possibly weinmann equipment. Very happy

A quick lash up has revealed that the frame was built for 27s with 60mm drop brakes. So I'll have to use weinmann center pulls which I have in the parts bin, and rebuild some weinmann rimmed wheels I have. Other kit will be the cinelli, campag and TA in the picture.

Just a couple of bits uts to source. Brakes are weinmann 750s. Need a rear brake hanger and the usual hoods, tape and cables.

Took bike apart, ordered the bits I needed to finish, touched up lost paint areas and started to clean and service the components. Rebuild has started.

And today's updates, brake levers are new dia compe with quick release, cinelli bar and stem, can't remember the brand of seat post. Gear levers are simplex.

And it's done, for now. There will be a few tweaks down the line but for a parts bin special I'm happy with how it turned out. Looking forward to a little trip to pub or cafe.
