Got a 70s TT bike that needs some new jewellery.

What was the a great TT option for components?

What were the cool kids running?

Cheers

Stu

Re:

You components must be fully drilled as this was the fashion in this decade :)

57 ring with a 12-17 block was standard weinmann 500 calipers 24 spoked wheels on large flange hubs unicator saddle cinelli bars & stem
Jubilee rear mech or campag record drilled out.

Re:

a single massive chainring
long 177.5 cranks
corn-cob 12-18 block
weinmann 500's cos they were light
huret mech (can't remember name, the light minimalist one)

If you can get some L-shaped cranks, that would finish it off nicely (although there is no riding advantage)

edit - just seen nob's reply, his is much the same as mine oops

Re:

Really useful replies so far, thank you both.

There's currently no drillium but there are Weinmann 500s, a single chainring 52t, a Unica Nitor, the derailleur is a Triplex Gran Sport copy....I'm on the hunt for a Huret Jubilee. Wheels are a mismatched Solite rear and Constrictor front both laced to Super Champion rims that run true enough for now

Not sounding too far off at the moment

Re:

yes, wheels
Large flange hubs, 28 spoke, no more than 2 cross and light rims
rims - Arc-en-ceils, Mavic OR10, anything around the 350 gramme mark

Re:

Can you guess who may have recently sold a fine pair of shiny Record 'No Record' high flange hubs laced to Arc en Ciel?? Yep that would be me!!!

Re:

Both lovely Steve, very very lovely. I love Emperor bikes and made a massive mistake selling mine

Let me resize some photos of the bike in question to share with everyone

Here it is, I am very taken with it!
