Currently using an Atom 14-28, will need to replace at some point.

NOS, any brands to avoid, any recommendations, best place to look etc?

You will need a new chain as well to stop the old chain jumping. I was looking for a block a while ago and ETC seemed to be OK. Sunrace took sturmey archer's tooling so should be OK.

yep, Sunrace seemed to have nicked all Sturmey Archer stuff and teleported it to China.......

yep and doing a good job got a nice range of hubs and supplying full range of spares. Not had a sturmey in for repair for years then got two in a week.

Blimey, you repair and service Sturmey Archer Hubs.......I take my hat off to you sir.

I was fully trained in all aspects of the Sturmey Archer Hub series back in the 70's at Cliff Pratt Cycles, more of a black art than anything else.

Strangely enough I sometimes developed a series of ailments that prevented me from working on bikes with SA hub problems......embedded shrapnel from World War one ! God Bless You "Bunny" Adams who sorted them out while I dealt with the Campag stuff :)

I needed a new chain as the old one slips so i am changing the freewheel to go with the new chain :D

Sun race seem to be available everywhere, so will probably get one of those.

Ta!

Re:

Am I right in thinking that the Sunrace ones are fixed with a lock ring so won't in the future need a removal tool?
