$36,000 Road Bike - Operators are standing by for your order

PoshBikes did a 6kg bike (I think) but even they say that it's more of a statement piece vs. a rider. I wonder if you could get this newer style bike down below 7kg and still ride it w/o worrying about stuff breaking. If anything, they have some new ideas on there that move the business forward as I'm sure someone will try to copy some of those details & sell for much less.

11.8lbs = <5.5kg? :D

I question if that bike is really the weight it says it is. Usually weight weenie bikes are taking out grams wherever they can so to see 2 water bottle cages seems like the weight claim might be exaggerated.

This is a list of all the parts on a German guy's 7 pound bike that was published last year-no pics, but they claimed he rode it regularly!

" but they claimed he rode it regularly! "

Right. And I'm 6'2" and get mistaken for George Clooney all the time. :wink:

Somehow I find that hard to believe given the 700g wheelset and some of those "modified" parts. Then again, maybe he means he rides it regularly down to his mailbox to meet the postman and then rides it home again. :P

Exactly - he's measuring the amount of paint in grams but then puts TWO bottle cages on it? :shock: I didn't see a scale in any of those pictures on the site. :wink:

Let's not forget that the UCI state that the weight of the bike cannot drop below a certain threshold.
15lbs. But we can all piss on that nowadays and I've never had a bike weighed, even in a Premier Calendar.
