For the first time in a long time we all rode retro bikes

It was a slop fest, with plenty of comedy moments, my center ridge tyres made it interesting.

Si bent is rear mech hanger on his almost NOS Mongoose :(

Matthews went straight over the handle bars on his Raleigh diablo Titainium

Rich had a rear cassette that looked like a throwing star, that did skip a little

We all made it back in one piece, well late back because Carl, Luke and Martin turned up late

Thanks for making this such a fun day out.

Stuart

Re:

Sorry for the late reply. Cheers to all who attended.
Nice route around varied landscapes from industrial to rural.

You know you should have changed the cassette sooner when the chain whip will not grip on it to remove it.....
17 miles of slipping gears and nursing the bike around was actually quite good fun. New cassette fitted now and good for another 25 years.

Glad everyone got back ok with the few incidents we had.
Most bikes will live to see another day. I was crying to see the Mongoose bent and covered in mud... lovely bike! Hope it can be mended.

Rich.
