Wanted 26” disc wheels wanted

My son came home a couple of weeks ago saying there was something wrong with his bike. He’d managed to bend the mech hanger and the mech had taken out three spokes on the back wheel.

Hoping someone might have a 26” rear wheel suitable for a disc brake they no longer need? The front one doesn’t look great either, but will hang on for a bit unless someone’s looking to sell a matched front, ideally with a 20mm though axle.

Existing wheels are Mavic X223 rims on Shimano Deore axles.

He’s got a Bikeability course in a couple of weeks so looking for something soon!

I have a Mavic F519 (black) on a grey Deore 6 bolt 9 speed QR rear hub, stainless steel plain gauge spokes laced 3x and brass nipples. I bought it in Moab when I broke a wheel out there a while ago. It is built tough.

Unfortunately, I'm away on holiday until the end of next week, but can probably post it on 11th if nothing else comes up before then.

Why not replace the spokes?
3x drive side, you can measure another for length.
Put them in, wrapping over on the 3rd cross, tighten to match the other ones, and Bob is probably you uncle.

Or is the rim toast?

The rim is sort of OK but there are numerous loose and bent spokes and I’m not up to truing it myself if I could work out what length of replacement spokes I needed. I have dropped it at our local shop but I’m not expecting an as-new wheel back! It’s had a hard life so far. T..
