So a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to purchase this 2014 Orange Gyro Frameset from @letmetalktomark who I have been riding with so had seen the bike all built up. Now I’ve a collection of Oranges and also boxes of spare parts so it wasn’t too difficult to get it built up from my spare parts bin. The hurdle I had to overcome was the difficulty in finding a non-boost rear wheel for the spacing. Thank you to Bankrupt Bike Parts for coming up good with a Non-Boost Formula Rear Hub for under £20. I put my wheel building skills to use and swapped out the rear hub from a WTB 29 which was boost and heypresto a wheelset which works. So Sunday was it’s shakedown ride, a nice run out to High Lodge Thetford Forest and Brandon Country Park and 13’miles later and all was good with the Gyro, infact better than good as I smashed some of my times on sections of the route I had ridden many times before on other bikes (*According to Strava) anyway here it is and takes my Orange collection to 7.
