I understand exactly what you mean re that mismatch. I was loathe to change the Mercian stem since it was an original branded Mercian item and a black seat post did not look right. The Mercian has now been sold so that is not my concern any more.

With the Bianchi I totally agree that it needs a sliver seat post and I think I actually have one but have not got around to fitting it.
